Sophie Marjanac
Sophie Marjanac is an Australian qualified environmental lawyer with a decade of experience in the not-for-profit sector. She is currently Director of Legal Strategy at the Polluter Pays Project, and was previously a Senior Lawyer at ClientEarth from 2015-2024. She was the lead lawyer in the groundbreaking Torres Strait Climate Case, which was the first climate case to be brought against the Australian Government on human rights grounds. She is recognised as a global expert in climate change law and litigation and has regularly commented and written on the topic in the media and in academic publications.
