His ability to see beyond the ordinary has earned him praise throughout his career. Guided by original ideas, Jean has worked closely within the world of food and hospitality, where he has created some of his most celebrated work. Over the course of his career, he has collaborated with leading international brands, agencies, and chefs. His distinctive graphic approach, strong sense of colour and styling, and sharp eye for detail result in bespoke, thought-provoking images across both stills and motion. Conceptually driven yet frequently working on location, Jean captures the character and atmosphere behind the people and places he documents. He has photographed more than eighty books with many of the world’s most celebrated chefs, and his work has appeared in magazines internationally. Jean is an ambassador for Capture One photographic software and a three-time winner of the Pink Lady Food Photographer of the Year award. He has also been shortlisted for numerous international honours, including the James Beard Awards. Selected portraits are held in the collection of the National Portrait Gallery, London, and he has held several solo exhibitions in London and France. As an author, Jean received the Gourmand Award for Best Dessert Cookbook for TeaTime. He continues to work as a photographer and consultant, developing new projects, books, and publication concepts, bringing his expertise to help shape and realise creative visions.
