Publishing & Communications Coordinator
Full-time · On site (Winterbourne, West Berkshire)
Papadakis is an award-winning independent publishing house, renowned for producing high-quality books that span a diverse range of subjects including architecture, art, lifestyle, food culture, fashion, popular science, nature, and natural history. Our publications are celebrated for being visually stunning, authoritative, and pioneering. We work with expert authors to create content that engages and inspires readers. At Papadakis, innovation and excellence drive our commitment to delivering exceptional books to a global audience.

This is a hands-on, wide-ranging role working directly with the Publisher across all stages of the publishing process. You will support editorial and production workflows, lead aspects of communications and marketing, liaise with authors and partners, and help organise events, launches, and international book fairs. No two days are the same, and the right person will have the opportunity to grow with the company.
On-site presence is essential. Our office is the creative and operational hub of the publishing house, and this role requires full engagement within that environment.

- Provide day-to-day editorial and administrative support across multiple illustrated book projects.
- Assist with production processes, schedules, image management, metadata, and catalogues.
- Lead or support communications: social media planning and posting, newsletters, website updates, copywriting, press materials, and advertising.
- Coordinate book launches, events, and book fairs, including travel to Frankfurt Book Fair.
- Liaise with authors, artists, photographers, designers, and external partners.
- Manage office organisation, stock, and digital assets, ensuring smooth operational workflow.
- Contribute creatively to the development and promotion of current and future titles.
About You
- 3–6+ years’ experience in publishing or a closely related creative field.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-moving environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; confident in adjusting tone for different audiences.
- A keen visual sensibility – attentive to design, imagery, and the aesthetics of illustrated publishing.
- Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working in a small team where initiative matters.
- Excited by the opportunity to grow professionally and take on increasing responsibility.
- Passionate about books and culture.
- Able and willing to work full-time on site in our West Berkshire office.
Why Join Papadakis?
- Be part of a renowned independent publishing house entering an exciting period of growth and global recognition.
- Work closely with leading artists, scientists, writers, photographers, and cultural organisations.
- Gain experience across the full breadth of publishing – editorial, production, design, communications, rights, and events.
- Contribute directly to high-profile illustrated books that resonate internationally.
- Shape your own role and develop your career within a creatively ambitious and purpose-driven environment.
